Renovating the building in Ljubljana’s old town focuses on preserving the historical layout while integrating modern solutions. The floor plans follow the concept of Baroque urban apartments, with a sequence of rooms organized around a central installation core. Existing load-bearing walls are retained, and partition walls are designed as built-in wardrobes that combine storage and discreet passageways.

Restoration research uncovered Baroque and Art Nouveau frescoes, which can be integrated into the interiors. The technical upgrades include underfloor heating, local ventilation, smart installations, and a new elevator. Rooms without natural light are illuminated through skylights positioned above built-in units. The renovation preserves the building’s historical structure while enabling contemporary living along the river, in the heart of the old city center.
